Short version: this website uses no cookies that require consent — none for analytics, none for marketing. We measure traffic with Statable, a cookieless tool built for gdpr compliant tracking, so you will not find a cookie bar here: there would be nothing to consent to. Here is the full picture.
What the website stores in your browser
| Item | Type | What it is for | Sent to us? | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
svitano-theme | localStorage (not a cookie) | remembers your choice of dark/light mode | no — it stays only in your browser | not required (purely a technical function at your request) |
And that is all. No tracking pixels, no advertising systems, no third-party cookies.
svitano-theme is technically not a cookie but a record in the browser storage (localStorage). We mention it here for completeness — we want you to know about everything the website stores on your device. It is not sent anywhere and cannot be used to identify anyone.
Why we do not have a cookie bar
A cookie bar serves to let you consent to (or refuse) cookies that are not essential — typically analytics and marketing. We do not use any such cookies, so a bar would only be a needless nuisance.
The tool we use to measure traffic (Statable, see below) works without cookies and stores nothing in your browser, so no cookie bar is needed. If we ever deploy a tool that does require cookies, a bar will appear before that tool starts running, not the other way round.
How we measure traffic
| Tool | Purpose | Cookies | Where the data is held | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Statable | aggregated traffic statistics | none | EU (the Netherlands) | active |
Statable is operated by a Dutch company, Key Arg B.V.; it processes and stores the measurement data in the Netherlands, under EU law, so none of that data leaves the EU. The tool uses no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not store visitors’ IP addresses; it does not identify individuals or track them across websites. It collects only aggregated data: pages visited, approximate region, device type, and the source of the visit. Visitors with Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control switched on are not measured at all. Statable acts as our processor under a data processing agreement (DPA), which forms part of its service terms (Art. 28 GDPR). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Website and form protection (Cloudflare)
The website runs behind Cloudflare, a service that keeps it available and secure. In doing so, Cloudflare processes visitors’ IP addresses; in normal operation on this website, however, it sets no cookies that require consent.
On the contact form page, we also use Cloudflare Turnstile — protection against spam and bots. It is a security tool essential for the forms to work; it loads from the domain challenges.cloudflare.com and uses no cookies. You can find details about Cloudflare in the Personal Data Protection policy.
If in the future we deploy a tool that does require cookies (for example, advertising measurement), you will first see a bar with equally weighted Accept and Reject buttons, and only after your consent will such a tool load. Without consent, nothing of the sort will run.
How to delete what is already stored
You can delete the theme choice (svitano-theme) in your browser settings — by clearing the website data / localStorage for the domain svitano.cz. Nothing will happen to the website; it will simply return to its default appearance.
